Oscar Piastri on his Singapore puncture: “Ironically, it probably helped”

Oscar Piastri believes that his puncture during the Singapore Grand Prix ironically helped him to overtake Lewis Hamilton for fifth place in Sunday’s Formula 1 race.

At the time of the virtual safety car on lap 39 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, Piastri was running sixth, 20 seconds behind third-placed Hamilton and seven seconds adrift of his team-mate Lando Norris. The virtual safety car was deployed as Lance Stroll pulled aside.
